What is Education? It is a formal method of socialization where a student learns. This method dominates over the cultural way of educating from the family ways. It institunalized the methods of teaching in a general way making the students as the product of the vast knowledge and moulding them to have a better workable role in the current society. Britannica | Wikipedia
The methodology of teaching is called pedagogy. In pedagogy both formal and informal methods of teachings are taught but in most of the classrooms only formal methods are used. The marks of the students are given the utmost priority since it is believed as the success for both the student and school/college/university. But educations has its own benefits, it generated a sense of equality among all groups of society and transformed the living to lead a better quality of life. Those who are good at education earns a very good place in the society.

Education in India: More Indians are graduating then ever before, thanks to the education system which is economic and affordable to the larger section of the society. There are too many critics to raise flaws in Indian education to show lack of innovation in students. Proper training to teachers and adequate infrastructure are the drawbacks for the developing country. Policy changes with eradicating these drawbacks will not help much.
The Indian education system with many other countries shaped up when there was industrial revolution and the country needed workers for the industry to do specific task for years and may be whole life span of the worker. At present scenario, we have more workers and the industry scenario changes very dramatically from year to year and in addition to that robotics and automation to industries are removing more workforce. Now the workers are needed to change their jobs with different task or innovate themselves to persist and the skills which they have acquired are not enough.

In any government program, subsidy and reservations are common which doesn't happen in private companies, while a healthy competition among private companies lead to best changes and the best output. While in education which essentially is a government program with scholarships and reservations, has been tuned such that the system is rigid and can be tweaked only by the government and no one else.

It may sound pragmatic but changing education as a whole is impossible but one can realize that it is best to understand the flaws and try to adapt with the best alternatives in education. The internet and media is palying a very important role by providing with valuable resources and with a proper organized focus anything is possible.

Education is not simply a content delivery system; rather, it is a system designed to help all children reach their full potential and enter society as full and productive citizens — Sean Slade, Senior Director, Global Outreach, ASCD
